The Needles at Canyonlands

Our Spring Break! What a time we had! We took the boys down the the southern part of Canyonlands National Park - "The Needles" - to go camping and hiking. It was a 4 or 5 hour drive, and when we got to the entrance a sign said "campground full". Abram went in to the Visitor's Center and the lady there told him, "There's one more camp site, you better hurry!" So we drove a little over the speed limit and found the one empty camp site - and the most beautiful one in the park!! It was inside a box canyon, with a cave right behind our tent spot and trees, yucca, cacti and other desert plants all over, making it an ideal camping spot.

On Friday, we went on an almost-6 mile hike with the boys. I carried McKay and Abram carried Elijah. It was ROUGH! But GORGEOUS!! I'm kind of shocked after-the-fact that we went on such a difficult hike with babies - it was up and down, over boulders, through cracks in rocks, you name it - mountain goat terrain! But I'm glad we went. We saw some of God's best art! Take a look-see! (and click-on to see larger)
